The Dock doesn't literally have the folders, e.g., the Download folder. Instead it contains 'aliases' (a.k.a, 'pointers', or 'shortcuts') to the real folders, which reside elsewhere on your computer.
What may have happen is that the main Folder in the applications folder is Black for Office 2011. If you dragged the application folder the dock, that would account the Black Folder. Add Downloads to the Dock
If the Downloads folder is missing from the Dock, here is how you can bring it back:
1. Open and a Finder window and Click Go and choose Home. This will open your Home folder. Or alternatively, you may use the keyboard shortcuts in the Finder: Command-Shift-H.

2. In your Home folder, find the Downloads folder. then select it by clicking and drag Downloads and drop it where you want it, since this is a folder, you can place it in the right section of the Dock, near the Trash.

The tips above will work if you have not permanently deleted your folder. You can easily check this if it is deleted or not. Open Spotlight and search Downloads. Can Spotlight find the folder? You probably did not delete the folder permanently. The only way to do that is via Terminal. If this is the case, you can create a folder and name it Downloads and then restart your Mac.
